Week 7 Sep 28 - Oct 2

Monday Sep 28

Today we started Unit 4 The Revolutionary Period.  Students took notes on a guided note sheet to this lesson: The Revolutionary Era 1

Tuesday Sep 29

After a quick lesson, students engaged in a STEM activity.  Students read and discussed the failure of Fort Necessity.  Students were tasked with building a fort of their own (out of straws and tape) that would support a water bottle.  Many were successful, many were not :)

Wednesday Sep 30

Today we discussed the parts of the Declaration of Independence and the Ga signers of the DOI.  Students recorded notes on a guided note sheet.  

Homework: Break up letter.  Students write at least 5 sentences in their 'break up' letter to King George III. This is due Friday Oct 2.  

Thursday Oct 1

Happy October.  To day students recorded facts to the following video:  

Today's warm up was a comprehension check/study guide.  We had a mini-lesson on the Boston Massacre.  This is to help prepare students for the DAR essay contest that is coming soon.  We will continue research tomorrow and start a rough draft.  

Homework: Break up letter.  Students write at least 5 sentences in their 'break up' letter to King George III. This is due Friday Oct 2.  

Friday Oct 2

After today's warm up, we discussed the DAR essay and students had the class period to ask questions for clarification and get started.  

Homework: Begin studying for the test Thursday Oct 8.

Week 6 Sep 21 - Sep 25

Monday Sep 21

Today's lesson was about Georgia as a Royal Colony.  Students recorded notes onto a guided note sheet.  Students also received an "optional" assignment.  This assignment is in TEAMS and is due Thursday.  Students may replace a "bad" daily grade by doing well on this assignment.  

Homework: Continue studying for Friday's test.   

Tuesday Sep 22

After today's warm up, we reviewed answers on a quick comprehension guide.  Students received a choiceboard assignment.  This is due Thursday at the beginning of class.

Homework: Continue studying for Friday's test.

Wednesday Sep 23

After today's warm up, students had the rest of the class to work on the choiceboard assignment.

Week 5 Sep 14 - Sep 18

Monday Sep 14

Today we started a new unit, Colonization of Georgia. The assessment will be on Friday Sep 25th.  Due to MAP testing, class periods are shorter than normal.  Students recorded notes onto a guided note sheet to this lesson: Creating a Settlement 1.  

Homework: None.  Get a good night's rest and a great breakfast in preparation for the last day of MAP tests tomorrow.  

Tuesday Sep 15

Today we completed the Colonial Georgia notes with a lesson on Mary Musgrove and Tomochichi.  

Homework: None

Wed Sep 16

After today's warm up, the assignment was to create three diary entries as if the student was living in Colonial Georgia.

Thur Sep 17

Today was the end of "Trustee Georgia"  Students took notes on a guided note sheet about different groups who settled Georgia.  

Homework: Begin studying for the unit test next Friday.  

Friday Sep 18

After today's warm up, student logged into TEAMS and completed a web quest about the 

'War of Jenkins Ear'

Quizlet for next Friday's Test.  Another study guide for next Friday's test.

Heroes reading activity.  

Students summarized the heroes in the reading activity.  Part 2 of the assignment and the warm up are in this attachment.  Students are draw a picture/draft a poem/etc about what a hero is to them or what hero means to them.  This is due tomorrow
