Today we started Unit 4 The Revolutionary Period. Students took notes on a guided note sheet to this lesson: The Revolutionary Era 1

Tuesday Sep 29
After a quick lesson, students engaged in a STEM activity. Students read and discussed the failure of Fort Necessity. Students were tasked with building a fort of their own (out of straws and tape) that would support a water bottle. Many were successful, many were not :)

Wednesday Sep 30
Today we discussed the parts of the Declaration of Independence and the Ga signers of the DOI. Students recorded notes on a guided note sheet.
Homework: Break up letter. Students write at least 5 sentences in their 'break up' letter to King George III. This is due Friday Oct 2.

Today's warm up was a comprehension check/study guide. We had a mini-lesson on the Boston Massacre. This is to help prepare students for the DAR essay contest that is coming soon. We will continue research tomorrow and start a rough draft.

After today's warm up, we discussed the DAR essay and students had the class period to ask questions for clarification and get started.
Homework: Begin studying for the test Thursday Oct 8.
